END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT

DVT is free for individuals. If you deploy it as shared team infrastructure inside a company, your company needs an enterprise license. DVT is closed-source, proprietary software owned by MetaThinking (meta-thinking.net). This agreement governs every copy of the dvt-core software, however installed.

MetaThinking grants you — a natural person — a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use DVT free of charge for individual use: work you run yourself, on machines you use yourself, including at your place of employment. A DVT account (sign-in) is required. Individual use does not include: deploying DVT on shared servers or schedulers that other people depend on; operating DVT as a service for others; or managing DVT seats on behalf of other users. Those are enterprise use.

Enterprise use requires a commercial license from MetaThinking, priced per deployment following an engineering assessment, with an optional support plan. Enterprise licenses include offline, machine-bound activation for air-gapped environments and multi-seat management. Start at the assessment.

Under either grant you may not: reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the compiled source of the software; redistribute, sell, rent, or sublicense it; remove license enforcement or attribution; or use it to build a competing product. You may not use the free individual grant to circumvent enterprise licensing.

DVT runs on your machines against your databases. Your data, your credentials, and your query results never pass through MetaThinking servers. The software contacts getdvt.net only for account sign-in and license verification — see the privacy policy for exactly what that involves. Air-gapped enterprise deployments perform no network calls at all.

Martin and other AI features operate through an AI-Proxy gateway you run and credentials you own. Prompts and results flow between your machine, your gateway, and your model subscriptions — not through MetaThinking. AI output can be wrong; review before applying. You are responsible for what you execute against your systems (DVT gates AI-proposed writes and commands behind your explicit approval by design).

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, METATHINKING SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM USE OF THE SOFTWARE. FOR FREE INDIVIDUAL USE, METATHINKING'S TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED ZERO DOLLARS; FOR ENTERPRISE LICENSES, IT SHALL NOT EXCEED THE FEES PAID IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM. Enterprise support commitments, where purchased, are defined in the applicable support plan.

This license terminates automatically on breach. MetaThinking may update these terms; material changes are announced on getdvt.net and apply from your next version upgrade. Questions: contact us.
